With a small crown, very slow-growing, reaching 7 (-10) m in height and 5 (чЗ) m in width, a tree tolerant of environmental pollution and suitable for avenue plantings; without pruning it forms an even, very dense globose crown, which in mature trees becomes more flattened. Leaves opposite, when unfolding red-brown, later bright light green, up to 20 cm wide, with five to seven lobes, toothed, with milky sap; winter buds red or red-violet.
