A variety discovered at the firm Gilardelli, Italy; distinguished, unmatched by others, by its intense red autumn coloration. Upright-growing, it reaches 4–5 m in height. Young shoots are covered with a slight silvery bloom, and the leaf petioles are red. Leaves are dark green, 7-lobed, up to 10 cm long and 10–12 cm wide, with deep lobes and evenly serrated margins; tolerates sunlight in summer. Prefers sunny or shaded positions, and moist, humus-rich, slightly acidic, well-drained soil.
