Reaches 4-6 m in height and 4 m in width. In spring, after unfolding, bright light-green veins appear on the leaves, between which lighter green or yellow-green areas are visible - it seems that the leaf is covered with a network of dark-green arteries. In mid-summer the leaves darken, and the spaces between the leaves become greener. Autumn coloration is red or reddish-green. Prefers sunny or shaded locations, as well as moist, humus-rich, slightly acidic, well-drained soil.
