Glossy rose

Occurs in Europe and Western Asia. An especially large-flowered form from the Altai is a crossing partner for raising many early-flowering hybrids of pimpinellifolia; a rhizomatous, drought-resistant and frost-hardy shrub, 2-3 m in height, with thin spreading thorny or bristly branches.
