Double-flowered horse chestnut

Large tree with an even, pyramidal crown, 20–25 (–30) m in height and 12–15 (–20) m in width. Leaves opposite, palmately divided into five to seven leaflets, very large, up to 25 cm long, dark green, turning bright yellow or brown in autumn. Fast-growing, frost-hardy, tolerant of shade and providing shade, moisture-loving, a park tree. It attains its full symmetrical beauty only when grown freely.
