French rose

Occurs from Southern Europe to Western Asia. A small shrub. 0.2–1 m, with relatively deep roots, gray-green branches, sickle-shaped prickles; leaves alternate, pinnate, rounded, leathery, upper surface dark green, lower surface gray-green.
