Single-stemmed white hawthorn; a tall shrub, sometimes tree-like, reaching 2-5 (-10) m in height, with thorns 2-2.5 cm long; shoots glabrous and pubescent. Leaves broadly ovate or rhombic. 3-7-lobed, deeply divided; flowers white, May-June. Well suited for hedges and protective shelterbelts. Hardiness zone 5a.
