Back to catalogue
A Dutch variety of field maple without powdery mildew with an even habit; Amstelveen, 1953. Habit: height 8–12 m; a small to medium-sized tree that under favorable conditions is easily propagated by cuttings; crown closed, in a young tree the height is about the same as the width, with growth probably broadly ovoid; upper part of the bark unusually reddish, lower part reddish or green. Leaves 3-lobed, up to 12 cm, dark green. Fruits have not yet been observed; dormant buds sprout from the bark. Prefers sandy, stony, humus-rich, fresh clay-loam soils, slightly acidic to strongly alkaline, tolerates lime well. Withstands dry sites and temporary waterlogging, resistant to urban climate. An excellent small street tree for pedestrian zones and residential landscaping.
