These are plants with long herbaceous or woody stems. They require a permanent support. Lianas differ in the way they attach to a support. For example, the stems of asparagus twine around a support; in others this function is performed by tendrils (пассифлора, глориоза). Some climb up trunks or vertical walls using adventitious roots (ivy, philodendrons). Lianas are most suitable for vertical greening of walls. They can be used as a living partition in a room, on a balcony, or to form a corner in a hall by installing special fixtures. You can shelter from the bright summer sun or create a "curtain" of climbing plants. It is very important to consider how a plant attaches to its support. For this, a wooden trellis is installed or twine is stretched for lianas with twining stems and stems bearing tendrils. On a vertical wall faced with tuff, on a pole wrapped with sphagnum moss, on a piece of bark, or on a tree trunk, species that have adhesive roots easily attach.
